Vlc Player Mac Album Art

Now only FLAC files from album 'A' has an album art. I can only see the VLC cone icon whenever I play any songs from album 'B'. Nothing changed when I deleted all the album art from MP3TAG and added them back again. Foobar2000 media player does not have this problem and shows the correct album art for all 7 songs. I have tried deleting.

Devices and Mac OS X version

VLC media player requires Mac OS X 10.7.5 or later. It runs on any Mac with a 64-bit Intel processor or an Apple Silicon chip. Previous devices are supported by older releases.
Note that the first generation of Intel-based Macs equipped with Core Solo or Core Duo processors is no longer supported. Please use version 2.0.10 linked below.

  • VLC is a media player first and foremost. There is no library management, aside from playlists, usage of tags is very limited, no rating system and VLC is best at playing a file directly from a folder as opposed to helping you manage or find good songs in your music library.
  • For the VLC player, whenever you add songs (containing album art) to a playlist, VLC copies and stores that album art inside an appdata folder for VLC. Even if you remove the album art from the songs themselves, the playlist will still have it.

Web browser plugin for Mac OS X

Support for NPAPI plugins was removed from all modern web browsers, so VLC's plugin is no longer maintained. The last version is 3.0.4 and can be found here. It will not receive any further updates.
